HOW DO YOU START A GARDEN FOR BEGINNERS?
Don’t think of the garden as just planting food or flowers. Go deeper to grow the perfect food and flowers for you. My designed background has taught me that if you take the time to plan your outdoor space and garden, you will create a memorable space that you will want to be part of daily. That connection is immeasurable because it is a big part of who you are.
Once you understand exactly why you want to garden and your needs; it could be to deal with depression, a connection to someone you lost, a memory of the happiest moment or as simple as the need to physically connect to the soil, the earth and nature.
You will know where you are coming from, and finally, realize what you need every space function will be identified. It is a matter of connecting the dots and what you need to grow and bring a sense of fulfillment to your life. For me it was flowers, they are everything to me. I began my garden from scratch, nothing but grass. My needs changed as the years passed, but I always understood what I needed from it, the foundation. I needed a healing Oasis.

WHAT SHOULD I PLANT ON MY GARDEN FOR BEGINNERS
With the many options out in the market on what we can grow, it is sometimes overwhelming to know what to concentrate on. Start with the easy vegetables and flowers to grow from seed so you can learn the process and save money.
Nothing wrong with buying seedlings, I have done it and it is just as fulfilling to see the food grow and use it as part of your meal. If you want to find out more about what to start with on the Spring season, check out ‘March Gardening | SAVE MONEY & TIME! I provide you with my favorite flowers and vegetables to start with and so many tips.
A few of my favorites for the beginner gardeners are; Salad greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, Kales are amazing!, snap peas, beans, zucchini and sweet peppers. These are all pretty straightforward to grow from seed and they will provide you with an amazing harvest.
When it comes from flowers to grow from seed, include in your garden the ones that the pollinators love, edible flowers and others that works as great pest deterrent; nasturtiums, calendula, marigolds, sweet peas and zinnias.
The food I always enjoy growing, because of ease of direct sowing, are radishes and carrots. Carrots are so much fun to grow because of the variety in the market. You will love growing them!

WHAT MONTH SHOULD I START A GARDEN?
The best seasons to begin reflecting on your life is fall and winter, when everything begins to get quiet and you can visualize your life.
February is a good time to begin the planning aspect of your garden, after understanding the components you want to integrate into the design. Remember that we are speaking of designing a garden first in order to succeed at gardening. When gardening, begin seeds in February but this will vary depending on the specific seed. It is important to understand how long it takes to grow a successful seedling for the variety and coordinate with the last frost date.

WHAT A BEGINNER GARDENER NEEDS TO KNOW?
A successful garden is the one that works for you and not the one that looks good to others. Details are important when it comes to a garden; soil, sun, drainage, climate, pests, etc. Consider preventing pests and if you need to then treat pest organically.
